The Limited Editions Club Books. “During the 1980’s, I worked on a series of books for The Limited Editions Club. One of these books I printed, but for the others, I did everything but print. I collaborated with the book designer, set type by hand, proofed pages, mixed inks, locked up
formes, handled paper, and in general assisted Dan Keleher at Wild Carrot Letterpress so he could concentrate on printing. For one of these books, Three Poems by Octavio Paz, I also supervised a crew of six who trimmed, collated, and dry-mounted 20,000 lithographs by Robert Motherwell to the pages of the books.”—AL
