Tannenbaum and Skolnick wedding invitation.
Designed by Arnold Skolnick. 1998. 7 x 7 inches, 125 copies. Printed by Art Larson from a photopolymer plate.
“Arnold Skolnick (of Woodstock poster fame) designed and lettered this invitation for his son’s wedding. It was printed damp on a rustic handmade sheet: deckles and cattail inclusions all around. It was made by a friend of Arnold’s, who had been a student of Walter Hamady’s. This sheet had to be carefully dampened and attached to a sheet of mould-made Magnani to orient it as squarely as possible before the printing could begin. The amount of moisture was critical as the sheet was made with little or no sizing and would have disintegrated if it had become too damp.” —AL
